Potato Industry Development Programme
This week George Cole took part in the first stage of the Potato Industry Development Programme, an initiative designed to give new entrants a broad understanding of the potato industry and help develop strong professional connections.
The experience provided the opportunity to visit a variety of businesses from across the supply chain, offering valuable insight into the different sectors that make up the industry.
Seeing these operations first-hand helps to build a clearer picture of how the industry works as a whole, from processing and packing through to manufacturing. The programme also highlighted the importance of collaboration and networking and gave the opportunity to experience all sides of the potato industry.
