Crop Production Coordinator
We are a privately owned family farming business, operating across the scenic Eastern Vale of York and into Ryedale. As well as farming, we supply potatoes to supermarkets and the crisping potato industry through our packhouse at Dunnington and our storage and washing facilities near Pocklington.
We are currently growing 550 Ha of cereals and sugar beet and 650 Ha of potatoes producing seed and ware for the processing and fresh potato sectors. The farm also has a small herd of pedigree cattle. We have an ongoing investment programme, regularly updating our grading and farming equipment.
Due to a re-organisation of our farming operation we are looking for an individual to work within the business in a technical capacity, primarily focused on seed potato production, and will be based at our seed grading and storage facility near Malton.
Reporting to the Farm Director, this role will involve liaising with the grading team, key customers and helping to ensure that our seed is graded to the highest standard as well as looking after our potato crops in store. Through the growing season this role will become more field based, crop walking and carrying out crop assessments while working closely with our Agronomists. You will also have responsibility for the timely administration and logistics to support our seed potato grading and distribution.
This is a new role within the business and it will provide an exciting opportunity for someone to develop a technical knowledge of crop production with a particular focus on potatoes, eventually leading to BASIS and FACTS qualifications for the right candidate. We are a family business with high standards, strong values and a positive culture. We take great pride in out work and producing quality crops for our customers. If you're enthusiastic, self-motivated and enjoy a varied workload, this will be the role for you.
