Yorkshire 3 peaks
Last week, after months of training and office chat dominated by practical footwear aching knee’s and route planning, a courageous group from RS Cockerill set off to take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks in aid of York against Cancer.
Its fair to say the Yorkshire weather didn’t making things particularly easy. Gale force winds, rain and low cloud followed the team throughout the day. However, adopting the motto “if we don’t laugh, we’ll cry”, spirits weren’t dampened and the team tackled the day with plenty of determination and humour. Together, the team covered 24 miles and over 5000ft of elevation, completing one of Yorkshires most notorious walking challenges. More importantly, thanks to the incredible generosity of friends, family, customers, suppliers and colleagues, we raised a staggering £12,230 for York Against Cancer. York Against Cancer is an incredible local charity that provides vital support to patients and families affected by cancer across Yorkshire.
The camaraderie, team spirit and encouragement shown throughout the day was amazing. Thank you to everyone who supported along the way and donated, in particular Martin and Paulina who were on hand with the support vehicle, keeping us fuelled and providing a much-needed push throughout the day!
